Moroccan Hassan Baraka Competes at Ultraman Championship in Australia

Rabat – Morocco’s Hassan Baraka will compete in the Ultraman World Championship, a triathlon which will take place from May 11-13 in Noosa Heads, a coastal town north of Brisbane in Eastern Australia.

The competition involves three events spread over three days, starting off with 10 km of swimming, followed by 421 km of biking and 84 km of racing on foot. Each stage must be completed in less than 12 hours, while the swimming event must be completed in less than 5 and a half minutes. Exceeding the time limit will be punished by automatic disqualification.

Hassan Baraka is representing Morocco as one of 50 other international participants. Just last March, he participated in the Ice World Swimming Championships, which involves participants swimming in 0-degree temperatures in the Arctic Circle.

The distinguished young athlete is also the first Moroccan to swim competitively on all 5 continents, and the first Moroccan to finish the World Marathon Challenge, a grueling test of endurance that involves running 7 marathons, 295 km, in 7 consecutive days, on 7 different continents Including Antarctica.

Baraka is not only a world-class athlete. The Moroccan athlese also boasts an impressive academic career. Baraka left his hometown of Tetouan, to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Management at the Complutense University of Madrid. He then pursued a master’s degree in management of institutions and sports activities at the Toulouse Business School.

In 2016, he conducted a series of executive leadership training seminars at Harvard Kennedy School in the United States. Today he is at the head of HB Sport, which he created in 2012, an event and consulting agency specializing in sports.
