Fez- Moroccan Ministry of Civil Service and Modernization of the Administrations announced on Friday that the standard time of the Kingdom will be advanced sixty (60) minutes starting from Saturday, August 2, 2014 at two o’clock in the morning.
This decision is an implementation of decree 2.13.781 dated September 28, 2013, the ministry said in a statement.
On the occasion of Ramadan, the Moroccan authorities decided to return to Morocco’s standard time GMT on June 28th 3 a.m.
According to the Government, this decision aims to increase the competitiveness of the national economy by reducing the cost of the energy bill and to facilitate transactions with regional economic partners.
